– Last night I found a dazzling simplified complexity within the performance of the Javanese version of l’Histoire du Soldat at the opening of IDF 2012 at TIM. It Summarized simplicity, the diversity of the cultural orbits, world tales. Modesty, containing so many gesture vocabularies. Simplicity, inviting everyone to sincerely laugh at them elves. Simplicity, opening the door for us to turn around and question, “where we are from and where we want to be.” Salute to Gerard Mustard, Eko Supriyanto, Martinus Miroto, Sri Qadariatin, Jamaluddin Latif, The Jakarta Symphony, and everyone who was Involved on stage. – Teater Jakarta Pohon
